Welcome to the Northwest School of the Arts PTO! Our organization is called Friends of Northwest School of the Arts as a reminder that it takes a whole village of teachers, parents, students, alumni, and community members to make NWSA a great place for our kids to thrive. This site will be your one stop shop for all things PTO! Stay in the know on what is happening, sign up to volunteer, support your PTO by becoming a member and participating in our donation campaign, and make your spirit wear purchases.

Why Should I Register?

Signing up with our platform Membership Toolkit is not the same as joining the PTO.

Fall Book Fair!

11/1/2023 10:39 pm

The NWSA annual book fair is just around the corner! This event is a wonderful opportunity for our students to explore new books and foster a love for reading. However, we can't make it a success without your help!

BOOK FAIR: November 13-17 in the Media Center

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We are seeking enthusiastic parent volunteers to assist us during the book fair. Your support will make a significant difference in creating a positive experience for our students. Whether you can spare a few hours or a whole day, your contribution will be greatly appreciated.

Volunteer tasks may include setting up and organizing the book displays, assisting students in finding their favorite books, managing the checkout process, and helping with any other necessary tasks. Primarily, though, volunteers will be running the cash register when there are customers ready to purchase. No prior experience is required, and we will provide all the necessary training.

SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER! Sign-up is on Parentsquare. Please direct any questions to Ms. Slater.

If volunteering, please make sure that you are registered as a CMS volunteer(must be done every year!).

Thank you!

President Farewell

8/24/2023 5:20 pm

I would like to begin by saying that it has been a great privilege to me to serve this school community as thePTO president.

Looking back on the last few years of service, it has been an exceptionally challenging time. When I agreed to take on the responsibility, our family had only been to the school once for a tour with our 4th grader and here we were attending classes from our dining room. This school, like so many schools, was in a crisis mode with the ever-changing needs of families and staff. Indeed, for me, it was no small feat to manage family needs and build a sense of community at NWSA while we were all apart.

As our doors opened and our community once again gathered, I came to meet amazing students, educators, support staff, and parents. So many of you came together to offer support and lift up our kids and teachers. 🙏Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Last year we welcomed our new principal, Katy Coffelt 🤩. It has been a pleasure to support her as she got her footing in the new surroundings. Please join me in supporting her as we all navigate new bells, new buses, and an exciting new campus breaking ground!

Please join us for one or more of the upcoming meetings related to Express Stops and the revised Bell Schedule for the 2023-2024 school year. Each meeting is divided into the most relevant issue/topic facing all stakeholders, particularly our students, staff, and families, and is a forum for (1) finding common ground around specific issues; and (2) brainstorming viable solutions to support and serve our awesome NWSA students.
