Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach to
establishing the behavioral supports and social culture needed for all students
in a school to achieve social, emotional and academic success.
As part of the PBIS program at NWSA, our middle and high school teachers encourage and reward positive behavior with “Dragon Bucks”. Students can earn Bucks for exhibiting responsible, respectful, and safe behavior. On select days, students redeem their rewards at the Dragon Dollar Store for a variety of fun stuff. Friends of Northwest PTO is proud to support our school's PBIS Dragon Dollar Store but we can’t do it without you. Here is what we need:
Volunteers to work in the Dragon Dollar Store (12:15pm – 2:45pm). Come help out in the Dragon Dollar Store! It's a great opportunity to meet other parents, see the students, and help implement NWSA's Positive Behavior reward program. Check the store schedule and sign up to volunteer!
Donations of money or gift cards. Support NWSA's PBIS Dragon Dollar Store by making a monetary donation; 100% of your contribution will go directly to restocking the Dollar Store with popular items, such as school supplies, books, accessories, and more. Send cash or check made payable to Friends of Northwest to our lockbox located in the front office. Please note on the envelope “Dragon Store” donation.
Donations of school supplies, games, and other fun stuff (no food/candy). The Dragon Dollar Store stocks a wide assortment of cool and fun items. We are seeking donations of new or lightly used items to sell in the store.
Interested in helping? If you’d like to volunteer or have questions about the PBIS program, please contact PTO at email@example.com.
