Important Transportation Info
If you have moved it's important that you speak with the NWSA registrar Ms. Warren at Becky.Warren@cms.k12.nc.us or 980-343-5500 by the deadlines listed below in order to ensure that your student has bus transportation for the 2018-2019 school year. NWSA will no longer write temporary bus passes or allow students to ride other buses home with other students as per CMS policy.
Students who were enrolled in CMS by August 1, have registered for transportation services, and are eligible for transportation, should have a designated bus stop for the first day of school Monday, August 27th. (Registered means the student has been entered in PowerSchool and/or an alternate stop has been submitted by 6:00pm on August 1.) Transportation information and class schedules will be mailed out to families in August, prior to the first day of school.
Students who have moved, had their new address recorded in PowerSchool between August 24 and August 28 and are eligible for transportation should have their stop in place for the afternoon bus ride on Thurs August 30.
Students who have moved, had their new address recorded in PowerSchool between August 29 and August 30 and are eligible for transportation should have their stop in place for the afternoon bus ride on Tues September 4.
The above information includes new students enrolled within the dates listed above. Priority is given to eligible students requesting service to and from home to school. It may take several weeks to process alternate stops/daycare stops at the beginning of the school year.
Students who have moved, had their new address recorded in PowerSchool on September 1st or later, and are eligible for transportation will have their bus stop set by the Transportation Area office.
If you have questions about bus transportation, please contact the CMS Transportation Department.
