  • National Red Ribbon Week is this week. During National Red Ribbon week, we pledge to stay drug free. This week we will be doing several things to celebrate. On Tuesday we will have “Sock it to Drugs Day”. Wear a cool pair of socks. On Wednesday let’s celebrate “Living Drug Free is No Sweat”. We ask that you wear sweat pants/shirts. On Thursday “Team up to be drug free” by wearing your favorite sports team apparel. Finally, on Friday wear Red to show your support for living a drug free life.

  • All High Schools students were given a Field Trip Permission Form to partake in a trip to see the Musical 1776 on November 1. The form MUST be returned to their English teacher by October 24th. The Northwest School of the Arts Foundation will be covering the costs for this trip and asking families for a donation of $3 - $10. Checks made payable to the NWSA Foundation are Tax deductible donations and can be returned with the Field Trip Form.

  • Please join the Northwest Chamber Orchestra as they perform side-by-side with the Charlotte Symphony Wednesday, October 24 7:30 PM in the north west auditorium. You don’t want to miss out on this exciting event.

  • On December 7, 2018, from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., Stay Motivated, INC will conduct a Christmas Toy Drive for underprivileged kids who live in Charlotte, NC. They aim to collect toys for girls and boys from ages 1-18. They will setup in the cafeteria at Northwest School Of The Arts. We would greatly appreciate your support in donating any toys for our drive. Our goal is to provide at least 1,000 toys to kids in Mecklenburg County who may have many challenges and struggles, a gift can make the holidays enjoyable. Your role as a donor is critical to helping these kids understand they we care about them all.

  • The Piano Booster Club will be collecting change in the carpool line on Thursday, October 25th beginning at 3:45 pm as part of the Pennies for Pianos campaign. Your change can make a big difference in helping to support our ongoing mission to provide high quality instruments for our students to use. Please gather up your spare coins or dollars and bring them with you to the carpool line on Thursday afternoon. Thank you in advance for your support!

  • The senior portraits make up day is scheduled for 11/15/2018. There is a sitting fee of $15.00 for seniors who want proofs. We will also be taking Senior Quotes at the camera, so be prepared. Students can pay by check, cash or credit card at the camera. A schedule will be sent out before the day--if you miss your scheduled time, you will not have a senior portrait in the yearbook.

  • This is a reminder that Governor’s School applications are due to Mr. French on Tuesday October 23rd. This should include your application, essays, 2 letters of recommendation and personal readiness statement. All information must be typed. All documents can be found at www.ncgovschool.org

  • Underclass Pictures for the Yearbook will be Nov. 15th and 16th during English classes. Fliers have been sent home with students for those wishing to purchase picture packages--only those pre-paying for pictures will receive proofs. IF YOU PAY ONLINE, YOU MUST BRING YOUR PRINTED RECEIPT TO THE CAMERA THAT DAY. See fliers for options and instructions for cash, check, or credit card payments.
